Asia’s biggest saline water tidal pond with water spread extending from 1165 sq km m the stormy season to 906 sq km in the dry season is settled in the core of the beach front Odisha (Orissa). It reaches out from Bhusandpur in Puri area in the North to Rambha-Malud in Ganjan locale in the South, isolated from the Bay of Bengal by a 60 km long restricted segment of boggy islands and sand-pads.
